SpongeBob fails his boating test again. Thinking that it's rigged, Patrick decides to take it himself, and passes with a perfect score. When he goes to get his license, Patrick is told that he's the millionth Bikini Bottomite to pass his or her test, winning him a free boat. He becomes SpongeBob's personal chauffer. Their friendship is tested when SpongeBob becomes jealous, but it doesn't help that Patrick rubs his license in SpongeBob's face every chance he gets.

One day the gum gets stuck on everybody and Patrick has to eat it up to get rid of it. SpongeBob tells Patrick he wants to get rid of the gum and Patrick says he won't feel bad.

Sandy's dome is leaking, so she can't do karate with SpongeBob. He goes to Jellyfish Fields with Patrick, but Patrick breaks his net and has to borrow SpongeBob's. SpongeBob ends the day by going to Squidward's clarinet recital. SpongeBob forgets his ticket and finally gets in at the end of the show. Squidward and the others notice SpongeBob is sad and they put on another show for him.

SpongeBob and Patrick bother Squidward while he is playing his clarinet so the mouthpiece gets stuck in his throat. SpongeBob and Patrick have to go in Squidward's body to get the mouthpiece using Sandy's shrinking submarine. When they get to the mouthpiece, SpongeBob cuts it in half so Squidward gags it up. Patrick makes the sub large again inside Squidward, and havoc ensues the next day. ("Patrick, don't burp inside me! That's disgusting!")

Mr. Krabs decides to give Plankton the Krabby Patty formula but after that, Plankton reverts back to his old self, causing viewers to believe it was just a very convoluted plan to get the formula. Mr. Krabs, who never let his guard down, actually gave Plankton a piece of paper that said "Gotcha! Love, Krabs."

Season 4, Episode 12 : Wishing You Well

Mr. Krabs decides to install a wishing well at the Krusty Krab and he makes SpongeBob go in to it to get the money. Patrick falls in and, with nothing else to do, they dig towards the "magic" which will supposedly grant the wishes. Squidward falls in, too, and when he gets pulled out he wishes to be far away from SpongeBob and he is promptly hit by a bus going "Very Very Far Away". SpongeBob tries to tell Mr. Krabs that magic just happened but he will not believe him. Mr. Krabs plays around with SpongeBob and wishes he was steamed and served with a side of butter, and it comes true.

Season 4, Episode 11 : Karate Island

SpongeBob receives an invitation to Karate Island so he can be crowned "King of Karate". Sandy decides to go with him to the island. SpongeBob gets captured by a con man named Master Udon and Sandy goes to save him. When she gets to SpongeBob, she finds out that they were trying to make him buy a condo. SpongeBob says no to the offer and they go home. The ending scene shows Squidward arriving at the island to be crowned "King of Clarinets". The episode was dedicated in memory of the Asian American actor Pat Morita, who played Master Udon.

SpongeBob fears Krabby Patties after working non-stop. When Plankton decides to open his Chum Bucket restaurant for 23 hours a day, Mr. Krabs decides to open the Krusty Krab for 24 hours because he'd never be able to live it down. And that was Plankton's plan exactly. When SpongeBob finally cracks from exhaustion, he might be able to tell Plankton the secret formula.

Plankton anonymously orders 10,000 Krabby Patties. Eventually, SpongeBob becomes afraid of Krabby Patties after the nonstop work. Plankton pretends to be a psychiatrist, in order to treat Spongebob's Krabby Patty phobia, in order to get the Krabby Patty secret formula. Much to Plankton's dismay, SpongeBob stays asleep during a hypnosis session, where he overcomes his phobia in his dream, and goes back to the Krusty Krab fully rehabilitated.

Season 2, Episode 18 : Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm

An Alaskan Bull Worm terrorizes Bikini Bottom, and Sandy goes after it because it ate her tail. SpongeBob keeps trying to stop Sandy from going, but she persists. They find the worm and Sandy successfully ties it in a knot and gets her tail back. SpongeBob reveals that the "worm" is actually the tongue of the real worm, and the worm is huge. Sandy and SpongeBob run away and it gives chase. Meanwhile, Patrick and everybody in Bikini Bottom are trying to move the city so it will be safe. But when Sandy and SpongeBob are safe and get the worm to fall off a cliff, it falls on top of the new city location and crushes the place.

SpongeBob gets a new student at Boating School named Flats, and he says he will kick SpongeBob's butt. SpongeBob goes to Mrs. Puff and Flats' dad, but they both make it worse. Flats still say he is going to beat up SpongeBob, but when he punches SpongeBob it does not hurt because he is spongy. Flats continue to punch all day, but eventually gets tired and falls over. SpongeBob talks to the class a bit and right when he has his fist up (as part of the speech), Mrs. Puff arrives and thinks SpongeBob beat Flats up.

Season 2, Episode 5 : Christmas Who?

Sandy tells SpongeBob about Christmas traditions, and he then relays the event to everybody in Bikini Bottom. The town becomes convinced that Santa will come and grant their wishes. SpongeBob and Patrick then go to decorate their end of Bikini Bottom with festive decorations. On Christmas Eve, Bikini Bottom gathers around Squidward's fallen "Coral Tree" and sings Christmas Carols in anticipation of Santa. When Santa fails to come, SpongeBob becomes riddled with sorrow, and Squidward revels in remorse. He makes up for mocking SpongeBob's belief in Santa by giving away everything he owns, posing as Santa. The real Santa appears and Squidward questions his sanity. There are two gags in this episode: one being Patrick's reference to Santa as "like a genie!", the other being Patrick ripping his paper.

Season 2, Episode 17 : Just One Bite

When SpongeBob learns that Squidward has never tasted a Krabby Patty, it becomes his obsession to get his miserable co-worker to take just one bite. When Squidward finally does, he hates it. At least that's what he tells SpongeBob. At night, he sneaks into the Patty Vault inside the Krusty Krab. Squidward sees SpongeBob come in unexpectedly and admits he likes Krabby Patties. He eats a lot of the Krabby Patties in the Patty Vault. SpongeBob tries to warn Squidward that eating too many patties at a time will cause him to explode, but before Squidward can hear him, it's too late. He is taken away to the hospital with his head separated from the remains of his body. This episode is one of the few that has been edited. In the original episode, Squidward walks into the Krusty Krab, where gasoline falls from above the door and burns Squidward as a security system. In the edited version this security is missing entirely as he walks over to the vault unharmed.

Season 2, Episode 15 : Artist Unknown

Squidward wants to be an art teacher and SpongeBob is his only student. Despite SpongeBob's amazing talent, Squidward keeps telling SpongeBob his art is bad and that his own is better. SpongeBob loses his spirits. Later, an art collector comes and Squidward passes off one of SpongeBob's statues, reminiscent of Jonah, as his own. However, the art breaks and Squidward needs SpongeBob back to recreate it. SpongeBob, unfortunately, can't make it again, causing Squidward to give up and break everything. He inadvertently creates the same sculpture, but walks out of the building. This causes the janitor to be credited for the sculpture.

Season 2, Episode 18 : Squid on Strike

Squidward and SpongeBob go on strike after having to pay Mr. Krabs unfair fees. The strike doesn't work and actually attracts customers to the Krusty Krab. One night, Mr. Krabs and Squidward have a long and hard negotiation, and things looks like they will work out, but the next morning, it is revealed that SpongeBob destroyed the Krusty Krab. Squidward and SpongeBob regain their jobs, and have to work for Mr. Krabs forever to pay off the damages.

Season 2, Episode 16 : Jellyfish Hunter

SpongeBob gives a customer at the Krusty Krab one of his custom-made jelly patties. The customer loves it, so Mr. Krabs decides to put jelly patties on the menu, and wants SpongeBob to catch all the jellyfish. However, SpongeBob finds out Krabs is running a jellyfish factory, and the jellyfish are getting tortured. SpongeBob doesn't like this so he and the jellyfish get revenge on Mr. Krabs.

Season 2, Episode 12 : The Smoking Peanut

SpongeBob and Patrick go to the zoo one day to see the giant clam. SpongeBob throws a peanut at it to wake it up but it starts crying and bothering the town. SpongeBob is privately worried that his peanut bothered the clam, and all of his friends are angry at whoever made the clam cry. The police eventually believe Patrick was behind it all, but SpongeBob confesses he was the one who did it. Suddenly, the zookeeper finds out it was actually Mr. Krabs who did it. He stole the clam's pearl, which then reveals itself to be an egg, and the baby hatches.

Season 2, Episode 11 : Pressure

Sandy, SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward start fighting because the sea creatures think that they are better than land creatures, and Sandy thinks the opposite. Sandy tries to get rid of her protective suit to prove she can breathe underwater, but eventually has to breathe again. In return, Sandy makes SpongeBob and the other sea creatures go on land for 1 minute. To her surprise, they survive, but she has to save them from the seagulls that are attacking her friends. They finally concede that sea creatures are good at some things, and land creatures better at others.

SpongeBob and Patrick attend a jellyfish convention. While there, SpongeBob meets the Jellyspotters, a highly-regarded group of jellyfishing experts. The group's arrogant leader, Kevin, invites the sponge to become part of the group, but the challenges they give him are more designed to humiliate than test.

While trying to come up with an idea to attract customers to the Krusty Krab, Spongebob gets an idea to sell colored Krabby Patties called Pretty Patties which Krabs and Squidward laugh at. Once Spongebob starts his own restaurant to sell them, they become a huge success. Mr. Krabs takes over this sensation and gives Spongebob his restaurant in return for the Pretty Patties stand, but the next day all the customers come back demanding a refund.
